3rd Shift Electrical Technician
About the role
Your Job Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Technician in our climate-controlled facility in Phoenix, AZ to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment to improve reliability and throughput
- Perform predictive and precision maintenance to identify and correct mechanical and electrical defects before equipment failure
- Diagnose electrical failures related to AC/DC motors, VFDs, and control systems
- Maintain operations equipment to achieve optimal performance levels and meet customer demand
- Support safe equipment startup, shutdown, and recovery activities
- Apply OSHA electrical safety standards, including lockout/tagout and arc-flash awareness
- Partner with operations and mechanical technicians to minimize downtime
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Support standard work, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- At least 3 years of verifiable experience as an Electrical Technician or Mechanical Technician in a closely related industrial electrical role
- Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, electrical sensors, control wiring, and industrial machinery
- Commitment to working safely and following electrical and mechanical best practices
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of verifiable experience as an Electrical Technician or Mechanical Technician in a closely related industrial electrical role
- Formal electrical training, apprenticeship, or technical certification
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (diagnostic level)
- Experience with predictive and precision maintenance techniques
- Proven ability to improve equipment reliability and throughput
- Proven ability to mentor or support skill development of other technicians

Benefits
This role is eligible for our Performance Pay program that could offer up to a 6% quarterly bonus. Phoenix operates on a point-based attendance program. Specific details on benefits are provided in the "What Will Put You Ahead" section.
Pay
Starting pay is $45.50 - $51.00 per hour based on experience. (This includes the $2 differential). Shift differential is $2.00 per hour between the hours of 2pm and 6am.
Schedule
This opening is for 3rd shift. Starting on Sunday Night at 10pm to 6 am and ends on Friday morning at 6am. Occasionally there will be need to work the weekend and flexible shifts due to demand and the need for coverage. Only candidates who can work on this schedule will be considered.
