3rd Shift Custodian

About the role

The Custodian position is available for 3rd shift from Tuesday to Saturday, working from 10pm to 6:30am. The initial pay rate is $20.00/hour with a 6-month probationary period. Afterward, the pay increases to $21.00/hour and becomes a union position. The position is unionized if a permanent position is offered within the first six months.

Responsibilities

• Routine cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, surface cleaning, trash collection, floor maintenance, restroom cleaning, elevator cleaning, and window washing.
• Periodic duties such as snow removal, setting up for events, and performing minor repairs.
• Completing supply order requests and maintaining adequate supplies.
• Observing building conditions and taking necessary actions to maintain or repair them.
• Writing work orders for maintenance issues and reporting any safety concerns.
• Maintaining security of assigned keys and performing minor repairs.
• Training and coordinating with Facilities Services student employees.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of professional custodial or janitorial experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Proficiency in using various cleaning equipment.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, twisting, squatting, crawling, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• A valid Minnesota driver's license.

Pay and Schedule

The starting pay is $20.00/hour with a potential increase to $21.00/hour after the probationary period. The position is unionized and requires a valid Minnesota driver's license.
