3rd Shift CNC Machinist

Duties

  • Actively promote and participate in advancing the safety culture of the facility.
  • Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
  • Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
  • Interpret work instructions.
  • Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performed.
  • Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of steel grades, copper, brass, aluminum and bronze.
  • Read, understand, edit and/or write programs.
  • Understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.
  • Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
  • Adhere to all Waukesha Bearings policies and procedures.
  • Seek out and participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • Set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring.
  • Create and maintain a team focused work environment.

Requirements

  • At minimum Manufacturing experience with prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges.
  • One year Machine Tool Operation certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ideal candidate can work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • The ideal candidate has knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code) and CAM programming software for toolpath creation.
  • The ideal candidate has familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
  • The ideal candidate has ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines confidently.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and lean manufacturing practices within a fast-paced production setting.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen (due to ITAR and UNNPI regulatory requirements).

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in CNC machining or similar field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in CNC programming languages, experience with precision measuring instruments, and knowledge of GD&T standards.
