3rd Shift Caregiver

About the Role

Home Helpers of Greater Milwaukee is seeking loving, compassionate Caregivers who are motivated to provide essential support and companionship for seniors, some living with dementia, and people recovering from illness in their own homes. This position is available for full-time or part-time shifts where you get to build your own schedule.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with physical therapy exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

• Empathy

• Ability to follow a care plan
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints

• Strong ethics
• Physical endurance

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA, CBRF, PCA, PCW certification
• 1+ Years of Caregiving Experience
