3rd Grade Math Teacher at Ivy Prep Academy

About the Role

The 3rd Grade Math Teacher is responsible for educating assigned students, creating a flexible program and classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth. The teacher will establish rapport with students, motivate them to develop essential skills, attitudes, and knowledge, and tailor instruction to each student’s ability. Professional relationships with staff and parents are also key.

Responsibilities

  • Teach subject matter using the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, incorporating appropriate learning activities.
  • Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs, and employ effective teaching techniques.
  • Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in instruction.
  • Maintain classroom organization, discipline, and a safe, supervised environment.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Promote a positive school environment that enhances student learning.
  • Devise and use techniques to accurately measure student progress.
  • Evaluate students’ academic and personal growth, keep records, and prepare progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents about academic and personal progress and interpret school programs.
  • Collaborate with other professional staff on academic and personal growth initiatives.
  • Demonstrate professional ethics as outlined by the Georgia Professional Standards Committee.
  • Adhere to District policies, including attendance, absences, and evaluations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required).
  • Georgia Educator’s Certificate (preferred but not required).
  • 1+ years of experience.
