3D DESIGNER

About the role

We're looking for a designer who can look at our prototype, quickly understand how it would work "in metal," identify which program it was drawn in, and envision how to reimagine the existing design. If you love space and sci-fi, dream of colonizing space, and can picture your wheels crushing regolith with a cloud of dust behind you, you're exactly who we need. You should be able to not just draw, but understand what you're drawing and how each part functions—not "I'm an artist, I see it this way," but "here we have an oxygen regeneration system, and this hatch protects the retractable satellite dish from dust."

Requirements

• Technical mindset—if not a formal technical education, then at least the ability to understand what you're drawing and how the part works
• Constant desire to learn and study
• Willingness to work in close contact with the engineering team of constructors
• Must be a crazy dreamer like us—understand that there's a probability tending to 1 of spending a lot of time without achieving a result for a long time
• Know that this is not a side hobby but a serious life goal for decades
• Ready for red eyes, sleepless nights, gray hair, problems with personal life, misunderstanding from spouse, parents, and friends, a bouquet of new neuroses, potential poverty, and a drop in living standards after moving to the USA
• Willing to eventually relocate to the USA—we don't want the team smeared all over the planet; sooner or later everyone will need to move here
• Ready to choose two birds in the bush instead of one in the hand

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AutoCAD (ArchiCAD) or at least the ability to read drawings
• Passed an exam in "Descriptive Geometry" at some point is a plus

Skills

• Knowledge of various graphic engines—UNIGINE is a definite plus (we're planning to switch to it)

Additional notes

US visa is a plus. A million dollars you're ready to invest in the project is a plus. A diploma from Darkhan-Uul Polytechnic College in Mongolia is a plus—but honestly, no one cares about diplomas and pieces of paper in the 2020s, especially in the Valley. Only knowledge, experience, and a desire to develop yourself matter.
