Eligible candidates may work remotely from anywhere within California. Compensation range: $36.77 - $55.15 per hour.

About the role

MarinHealth is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive 340B Coordinator to oversee the administration, compliance, and strategic optimization of the 340B Drug Pricing Program across MarinHealth Medical Center and nine affiliated sites. This role partners with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure program excellence while supporting patient access initiatives and financial stewardship.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree (or expected completion within one year) or better, plus five years of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Two years of 340B program experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of 340B Drug Program and contract pharmacy operations.
  • Familiarity with 340B split billing software and configurations.
  • Two years of pharmacy purchasing and inventory management experience or related experience.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) required at hire.
  • Integrative Agitation Management (IAMTAC) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • National Pharmacy Technician (PHARM-C) certification preferred at hire.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all requests regarding 340B activities.
  • Collaborate with 340B contract pharmacy vendors and pharmacy wholesalers to support the contract pharmacy network.
  • Serve as liaison for 340B software vendors and wholesale distributors to manage and oversee compliance with contractual terms.
  • Support installation and continuous utilization of vendor software; resolve issues with vendors and wholesalers.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with contract pharmacies; provide timely resolution and communication of issues.
  • Serve as primary link between wholesale distributors, contract pharmacies, manufacturers, legal counsel, prime vendor program, supply chain, 340B Health, split-billing software vendor, HRSA/OPA, pharmacy leadership, and others related to 340B operations.
  • Coordinate 340B needs with the buyer, Pharmacy IT, and pharmacy staffing as required.

Finance

  • Lead development, planning, and integration of the 340B program and contract pharmacy network.
  • Evaluate pharmacies for inclusion in the contract pharmacy network; establish marketing, contractual relationships, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform periodic site visits at contract pharmacies.
  • Provide recommendations to pharmacy leadership on contracting and 340B opportunities from financial, clinical, and operational perspectives.
  • Maintain split-billing software mapping to maximize 340B drug purchase savings.
  • Work with Revenue Integrity to investigate, correct, and modify billing NDC discrepancies and pricing issues.
  • Review 340B Contract Pharmacy pharmaceutical invoices prior to final approval by Director of Pharmacy; compile and prepare invoices for Retail Pharmacy.
  • Compute monthly 340B savings reports from drug wholesalers; review amounts due from Retail Pharmacy and follow up on discrepancies.
  • Assist Pharmacy Buyer and Pharmacist with GPO/WAC/340B purchase determination and prepare invoices and purchasing/financial reports.

Quality/Safety/Compliance/Ethics

  • Review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal 340B regulations.
  • Design efficient processes to reconcile drug ordering, delivery, and payment issues.
  • Stay informed of 340B-related legislation, articles, and white papers that may affect program structure.
  • Assure appropriate safeguards and 340B integrity.
  • Develop and monitor standard operating procedures for the 340B program and contract pharmacies.
  • Provide periodic reports to the Director of Compliance and Ethics on adherence to 340B, audit results, and regulatory updates.

Service

  • Report program savings on a regular basis (monthly, weekly, biweekly).
  • Assess opportunities for cost savings and business improvement in 340B contract pharmacy utilization.
  • Collaborate with departments and staff to communicate improvements and promote 340B activities.
  • Lead and facilitate priority 340B projects to completion.
  • Provide ongoing training, education, and communication for the 340B program.
  • Assist Pharmacy Director and CFO with HRSA and manufacturer audits.

Growth/Innovation

  • Collaborate with IT and decision support to identify data needs supporting 340B activities.
  • Perform quality assurance audits on all aspects of the 340B program, including contract pharmacy operations, financial transactions, and patient/provider qualifications.
  • Evaluate program oversight, OPA database accuracy, 340B purchase history, and inventory replenishment.
  • Prepare audit findings, reports, graphs, and charts; deliver presentations to work groups.
  • Develop recommendations based on research to track and manage essential program aspects and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor changes and evaluate success; suggest further improvements based on results.
