About the role
The Accountant I supports the daily functions of the Accounting Department by performing routine accounting activities under the supervision of senior accounting personnel. This role ensures the accuracy of accounting records and supports timely financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare invoices
- Prepare general ledger entries
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations
- Resolve internal and external customer inquiries with a positive attitude, flexibility, problem-solving, and timely escalation
- Develop general ledger research skills and intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills through continuous improvement
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 credit hours in accounting or finance
- If a degree is not in accounting or finance fields, a minimum of 18 college credits in accounting or finance fields are required
- No previous work experience is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree with a major in accounting or finance
- Previous internship or work experience in government accounting or healthcare
Pay
Hourly salary range: $21.46 – $24.46
- Up to $1.00/hour – Previous experience in a similar role
- Up to $1.00/hour – Career ladder specialty
- Up to $1.00/hour – Tenure with BTCS
