About the role

The Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical or Mental Impairments (TCOOMMI) Residential Case Manager provides person-centered case management services to adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental health disorders and substance use disorders at the Williamson County Dual Diagnosis Residential Facility (DDRF). This position reports to the TCOOMMI Program Director and involves developing professional relationships with DDRF staff, BCBS staff, and community partners.

The Residential Case Manager (RCM) meets with individuals receiving treatment at the DDRF to deliver case management, skills training, and psychosocial rehabilitative services in collaboration with Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDC). Services aim to stabilize mental health and substance use symptoms, reduce recidivism risk, increase community engagement, develop self-advocacy, and support participation in independent behavioral health services.

This role includes developing treatment plans with Residential LCDCs, transporting individuals to the BCBS clinic or other locations as needed, and maintaining detailed electronic documentation in compliance with company and state guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management, skills training, and psychosocial rehabilitative services to individuals with dual diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDC) to develop and implement treatment plans addressing mental health and substance use challenges.
  • Stabilize mental health and substance use symptoms to reduce recidivism risk.
  • Increase individuals' awareness of and participation in community and natural supports.
  • Develop self-advocacy skills and assist individuals in accessing independent behavioral health services.
  • Transport individuals to the BCBS clinic or other locations as required.
  • Maintain detailed electronic documentation in adherence to company and state guidelines.
  • Work independently and within a team, prioritizing needs during crisis situations.
  • Engage in regular meetings, training opportunities, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (minimum 24 college credits in human services if degree is not in the field).
  • Two years of experience with mental health and treatment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for connecting with individuals with chronic and severe mental health and substance use needs.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License, meeting Bluebonnet Trails Community Services driving requirements, and maintaining approved driving status.
  • Pass NCIC and TCIC criminal background checks, substance use screening, and fingerprinting prior to employment.
  • Official college transcript required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Associate.
  • Two years of experience in providing wellness and recovery support services in mental health, substance use, and/or crisis intervention.
  • Pursuit of clinical licensure in counseling, behavior analysis, family therapy, social work, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience in concurrent documentation.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).

Pay

Hourly salary range: $21.46 – $28.71, with differentials up to $4.00/hour based on:

  • Tenure with BTCS: $0.75/hour
  • Bilingual (Spanish): $0.75/hour
  • Previous experience: $1.00/hour
  • Advanced licensure or Licensed Associate: $1.00/hour
  • LCDC: $0.50/hour

Annual salary range: $44,636.80 - $59,716.80.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, non-exempt position with no nightshift or on-call requirements.
