3 Postdoc positions within forest microbiome assisted afforestation

AnalystFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: headings

for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Must include only sections with real specific content. Must not repeat job title. Must not include Job ID etc. Must preserve all substantive info, no boilerplate. Must remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO etc. Must not include application instructions. Must not include duplicated lines. Must not include placeholder text. We need to parse the job posting. Key info: - Title: Postdoc positions within forest microbiome assisted afforestation (but we don't repeat title as heading). - Department: Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management and Department of Biology. - Project: MycoForest - Stimulating Forest carbon uptake and storage by mycorrhizal inoculation, financed under Innomission partnership INNO-CCUS by Innovation Fund Denmark. - Start date: 1 February 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter. - Positions: three two-year Postdoc positions. - Description of project, three key areas: Microbial and mycorrhizal fungal development; Soil functioning and soil carbon dynamics; Tree survival and growth, and carbon uptake. - Each postdoc covers one area. - Details for each postdoc (Postdoc 1, 2, 3) with specific qualifications, responsibilities, supervisor contacts. - General Qualifications: Driver license (mandatory), Handling of plants and soil, Organizing and conducting field sampling, Data management, Statistics, Scientific writing and publishing. - "Our groups and research – and what do we offer?" description of groups. - Responsibilities And Tasks: list of tasks. - "We Are Looking For The Following Further Qualifications": list of abilities. - Terms of employment: Employment is full-time and for 2 years. The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. You can read more about salary levels in the state sector www.loenoverblik.dk (in Danish). This includes salary info but not explicit numbers. It says negotiation for salary supplement possible. Should we include Pay section? The instruction: include Pay section only if posting actually states them. It does not give explicit salary numbers, but mentions terms of appointment and payment accord to agreement, negotiation for salary supplement possible. That's somewhat pay info but not specific. Likely we should not create Pay section because no explicit salary figure. Similarly Benefits: not explicit. Schedule: not explicit (full-time). Could include Schedule if they say full-time. The rule: include Schedule section only if posting actually states them. It says Employment is full-time and for 2 years. That's schedule info (full-time). So we could include a Schedule section with "Full-time, 2-year term." However they also say "Terms of employment Employment is full-time and for 2 years." That's schedule. So we can include Schedule. - Benefits: not explicit besides maybe "creative and stimulating working conditions". Not specific benefits like health, pension. Likely not include Benefits. - Pay: not explicit salary numbers, so omit. - About the role: we could have an introductory paragraph summarizing the role. - Responsibilities: we have "Responsibilities And Tasks" list. - Requirements: we have specific qualifications for each postdoc plus general qualifications. Could combine into Requirements section. - Qualifications: maybe separate from Requirements? The instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to decide which to use. We have both specific qualifications and general qualifications; also "We Are Looking For The Following Further Qualifications" which are skills/competencies. Could map: - About the role: intro paragraph describing project and positions. - Responsibilities: list of tasks. - Requirements: maybe the specific qualifications for each postdoc (the bullet lists) plus general qualifications? Or we could separate Requirements (specific) and Qualifications (general) and Skills (further qualifications). But we must not create thin sections; prefer few substantive sections. Could combine Requirements and Qualifications into one section? But headings are predefined; we can choose to use only those that have content. We could use Requirements for the specific qualifications (including general) and Skills for the further qualifications (social competence etc). Or we could use Qualifications for the general qualifications and Skills for the further qualifications. Let's think. We need to preserve all substantive info. So we need to include: - Project description, start date, duration. - Three key areas. - Details for each postdoc (Postdoc 1,2,3) with specific qualifications and supervisor contact. - General Qualifications (driver license, handling plants/soil, organizing field sampling, data management, statistics, scientific writing/publishing). - Groups and research description (what they offer) maybe as part of About the role or a separate section? Could be part of About the role. - Responsibilities And Tasks list. - We Are Looking For The Following Further Qualifications list. - Terms of employment: full-time, 2-year, salary negotiation possible. - Application deadline etc is boilerplate to remove (application instructions). Must remove application instructions, deadline, etc. So we must omit the Application and Assessment Procedure, Application Deadline, etc. Thus we need to output HTML with sections:

About the role

with paragraphs describing the project, positions, start date, duration, three key areas, maybe groups.

Responsibilities

with
  • list of tasks.

    Requirements

    maybe with
    • for specific qualifications per postdoc? Could be nested? Could just list each postdoc's requirements as subheadings? But we cannot use headings other than h3 for sections; we could use

? Not allowed? The instruction only says use

for section headings. It doesn't forbid other headings, but to be safe we can use

for main sections and within them use
      • for lists. For specific postdoc qualifications, we could have a
        • each containing a Postdoc 1 – ... then a nested list? But nested lists are okay. Alternatively we could have separate sections for each postdoc? But that would be many thin sections. Better to combine. We need to preserve all substantive info: supervisor contacts, phone numbers, email. Should we keep them? Yes, they are substantive. So include them. General Qualifications list. Skills section: "We Are Looking For The Following Further Qualifications" list. Schedule section: full-time, 2-year term. We should not include Benefits or Pay. Now we need to ensure we don't include any boilerplate like "Contact: Specific questions for each of the postdocs, please see below." That's part of the posting but it's basically a pointer to below; we already include the details. Could keep a short line? Might be considered boilerplate. Safer to omit. Also remove lines like "For the requirements of the specific postdocs, please see the descriptions below." That's reference; we can omit. Remove "Contact: Specific questions for each of the postdocs, please see below." and "For general MycoForest questions, please contact Claus Beier, cbe@ign.ku.dk." That's contact info; maybe we keep general contact? It's substantive? Could be considered contact info. The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. Contact info is not necessarily boilerplate; but it's not a section heading. Could be included in About the role as a paragraph. However it's not essential; but we can keep. But we must not repeat job title as heading. Already not. Now produce HTML fragment. Let's craft:

          About the role

The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management and the Department of Biology at the University of Copenhagen invite applications for three two‑year Postdoc positions within the project “MycoForest - Stimulating Forest carbon uptake and storage by mycorrhizal inoculation”, financed by the Innomission partnership INNO‑CCUS of Innovation Fund Denmark. The positions start on 1 February 2027 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and are funded for 2 years. The project investigates how mycorrhizal inoculation can improve tree growth and carbon sequestration on former agricultural land. Three complementary research areas are covered: (1) Microbial and mycorrhizal fungal development, (2) Soil functioning and soil carbon dynamics, and (3) Tree survival and growth, and carbon uptake. Each postdoc will lead one of these areas while collaborating closely with the others.

Maybe also include groups description: Could add another paragraph about groups and what they offer. But we might put that in About the role as well. Now Responsibilities:

          Responsibilities

          • Carry out independent research projects under the PI’s supervision and in close collaboration with the other PostDocs and researchers within the MycoForest project.
          • Report and disseminate the periodic progress and results.
          • Take part in relevant teaching activities.
          • Write scientific papers aimed at relevant journals.
          • Actively take part in the research environments at the departments, sections and within the project.
Now Requirements: we need to include specific qualifications for each postdoc and general qualifications. We could structure as:

          Requirements

          • Postdoc 1 – Soil microbial development after mycorrhizal inoculation
            • Oversee formulation and addition of fungal or other inoculums; quantify mycorrhizal fungal colonization of seedlings, roots and soil.
            • Work in mesocosm/greenhouse and field conditions.
            • Follow colonization in different soils and host trees using classical microscopy and novel molecular methods.
            • Document successful establishment of mycorrhizal fungi within indigenous communities.
            • Required knowledge and hands‑on experience with:
              • Fungi in general, preferably ectomycorrhiza.
              • Field experience handling and sorting soils and roots.
              • Microscopy, especially stereo microscopy of roots.
              • DNA extraction from plants and soil and PCR optimisation including qPCR.
              • Bioinformatics and statistical analysis of meta‑barcoding datasets.
            • Will work closely with Postdoc 2 and 3 on plant and soil responses.
            • Principal supervisor: Associate Professor Rasmus Kjøller, Department of Biology (rasmusk@bio.ku.dk, +45 35322311).
          • Postdoc 2 – Soil functioning and soil carbon dynamics in response to mycorrhizal inoculation
            • Study effects of inoculation on soil carbon processes, including formation of persistent SOC fractions.
            • Work in mesocosm/greenhouse (with Postdoc 1) and field (with Postdoc 3).
            • Investigate how inoculation and changes in mycorrhizal community affect soil carbon sequestration in post‑agricultural soils.
            • Required background: PhD in soil science, organic matter studies, soil ecology or biogeochemistry.
            • Desired experience: plant‑soil interactions in field, mesocosm and lab using chemical soil analyses (SOC fractionation, biomarkers, carbon isotopes), roots, microbial taxonomic and functional community composition.
            • Principal supervisor: Professor Lars Vesterdal, Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management (lv@ign.ku.dk, +45 61670865).
          • Postdoc 3 – Tree responses to mycorrhiza inoculation
            • Establish and follow field experiments at practical afforestation sites; monitor plant growth,
