About the role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist to join our Microbiome Discovery & Colonization Switch team. This role will play a key part in advancing our understanding of microbiome dynamics and developing innovative strategies to modulate microbial communities for therapeutic benefit.
Responsibilities
- Lead experimental design and execution to investigate microbiome colonization and switching mechanisms.
- Develop and optimize assays to profile microbial communities and functional outputs.
- Analyze complex microbiome datasets to identify key drivers of colonization and stability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate findings into therapeutic strategies.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the scientific direction of the team.
Requirements
- PhD in Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience in microbiome research.
- Strong background in microbial cultivation, metagenomics, and bioinformatics.
- Experience with animal models or in vivo microbiome studies is a plus.
- Proven track record of scientific publications and presentations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Skills
- Microbial cultivation and anaerobic microbiology techniques.
- Next-generation sequencing and microbiome bioinformatics (e.g., QIIME, DADA2, MetaPhlAn).
- Statistical analysis and data visualization (R, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with synthetic biology and microbiome engineering tools.
- Project management and leadership experience.
