Brief Description

Essential Job Functions
- Aids in preparing instructional materials using duplicating or AV equipment and resource materials.
- Assists students in understanding instructional concepts by reemphasizing basic elements of teacher-directed activities.
- Supports teachers in implementing lesson plans.
- Assists with correcting student work and keeping records of student progress.
- Supervises students both inside and outside the classroom, maintaining discipline.
- Collects and accounts for monies received.
- Supervises students during recess, lunch periods, and before/after school.
- Assists with routine clerical tasks in classroom areas.
- Participates in various meetings to share information and improve skills.
- Fulfills other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Teaching methods and procedures.
- Record keeping systems.
- Audio-visual equipment and office machines.
- Instructional materials and their uses.
- Students' behavior and methods to ensure proper conduct.
- Safety practices.
Education and Experience
At least two years of related college education, an AA degree, or meet the Highly Qualified requirements by passing the Paraprofessional Assessment Exam with a score of 455 or higher. The position requires general knowledge of technical procedures and knowledge of School District practices or policies.

Summary
