Position Summary

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Plan and implement standards-based instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
• Develop engaging lessons using a variety of instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Utilize assessment data, including classroom assessments, benchmarks, and state assessments, to drive instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities, English language learners, academically gifted students, and students requiring intervention.
• Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and student engagement.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Monitor and document student progress and communicate academic performance with students, parents, and school personnel.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), instructional coaches, and administration to improve teaching practices and student achievement.
• Participate in school improvement initiatives, professional development, and district-required training.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other student information in accordance with district and state policies.
• Integrate technology effectively into instruction to enhance learning experiences.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and accomplishments.
• Support school activities and perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for a valid North Carolina teaching license in Elementary Education (K–6).
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary instructional practices and curriculum.
