About the Role

Mindrift is conducting a research study on how people use their phones, apps, and everyday digital tools, focusing on differences across languages and cultures. We're seeking native Korean speakers in New York to participate in a paid, 3-day in-person study in Midtown Manhattan.

Why Your Language Matters

Most technology is still designed with English speakers in mind. This study aims to help researchers understand how Korean speakers use their devices, ensuring future products work better for them.

Responsibilities

  • Spend 1-3 days with our research team in Midtown Manhattan
  • Walk us through how you use your phone and favorite apps in daily life
  • Share examples of your everyday phone activity with the research team (you decide what's included)
  • Fill in a short questionnaire about your habits

Requirements

  • 18+ and currently living in NYC
  • A native Korean speaker who grew up in South Korea
  • Use Korean in everyday life (texting, email, notes)
  • Have used a smartphone as your main personal phone for 3+ years
  • Comfortable communicating in English
  • Available for 3 consecutive days (Mon-Wed or Thu-Sat), starting October 16 on Friday
  • Not currently employed by a tech or AI company

Qualifications

Great fit for international students, people new to NYC, and anyone between jobs or with a flexible schedule.

Pay

$1,200-$1,600 for the full study.

Participation Details

Participation is voluntary and covered by a signed consent form that explains exactly what's involved. You can ask questions at any point and stop whenever you like.

How to Apply

Register on Mindrift and complete a short screening questionnaire. We'll confirm your session dates once you're shortlisted.
