2nd Shift Yard Driver

Responsibilities
- Safely operate spotter trucks to move trailers to and from dock doors, loading areas, and storage locations within the yard, hooking and unhooking trailers.
- Keep the yard clean and organized, ensuring that trailers are parked in designated areas and that there is a clear path for movement.
- Follow all CHEP and regulatory safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to traffic laws within the yard.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of yard trucks and trailers to ensure they are in safe operating condition, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, including the location, time, and any issues encountered.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, loaders, and shipping and receiving clerks to ensure trailers are in the correct locations at the right times.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the trailer yard through daily yard audits.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management, including lifting/carrying up to 78 lbs and pushing/pulling items with a maximum force of 34 lbs/feet.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- At least six months of yard driver experience in a vehicle of similar size and weight.
- Proficiency in backing trailers into dock doors and parking slips.
- Ability to climb in and out of the spotter truck numerous times per day, hooking and unhooking trailers.

Pay
Starting pay rate: $19.00 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.
Schedule
2nd shift: Monday - Thursday (6:00 PM - 4:45 AM). Friday & Weekend reserved for overtime.
