Job Summary
This position is responsible for operating welding equipment to fabricate high-quality parts, subassemblies, and finished products. Work includes various types of welds in multiple positions on diverse production lines. This role ensures precision, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety protocols.
YOUR IMPACT
- Pass and maintain certification through the Welder Qualification Test.
- Operate overhead cranes to safely position parts for welding.
- Adjust machine settings for proper weld configurations.
- Clean finished welds using tools such as grinders, wire wheels, and needle guns.
- Heat, form, and weld metal parts in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Use measuring tools accurately to ensure specification compliance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and follow verbal/written work instructions.
- Assemble and weld metal components with precision.
- Position and secure parts correctly prior to welding.
- Cross-train and work across production areas as needed.
- Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and 6S procedures.
- Work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to wear a standard welding helmet for extended periods.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, included evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business and production demands.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in-person and on-site.
- Stand for extended periods, repetitive motions, lift/carry up to 35 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds and up to 30 pounds sustained, bend, kneel, climb, or use tools and equipment.
Outstanding Qualifications
- Welding certification from an accredited institution.
- 1+ year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and up to 30 pounds sustained, bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment.
- Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
- Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.
