2nd Shift Waste Processing Technician I
About the role
The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry level position responsible to safely perform the following fundamental tasks which may include the following based on individual Business Unit:
- off-loading inbound trucks
- waste stream QA/QC
- verify container count, manifest number and other relevant data needed for waste processing
- container sampling
- recognizing non-conforming material
- processing of material through shredding operations
- direct loading into solidification pit, LDI, etc.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
- 1+ year of experience
- Able to pass respirator fit test
- Must exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate attention to detail and time management
- Must be able to operate cranes, forklifts, hand trucks, and other power tools
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods of time
- Walking and/or standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- General mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment
- Specifically, via forklift, forklift attachments, hose, and valve operation
Skills
- Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements
- Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements
- Safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., yard dog) within the facility boundaries
