2nd Shift Test Technician III (Onsite)

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

About the role

As a technician at our Phoenix MRO, you will specialize in the repair of electronic components for aircraft. You will have one of the most critical roles—testing and troubleshooting units to keep our customers flying. External candidates will receive a sign-on bonus of $3,000.

Responsibilities

• Test a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures
• Set up and operate various test stands
• Configure test equipment for special tests as needed
• Interpret and record test results
• Recognize and isolate test equipment failures
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level
• Read and interpret technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics
• Effectively communicate work status to team members and support staff (e.g., shift pass down, engineering, maintenance)
• Understand theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to read and interpret technical data
• Ability to write in a clear and concise technical manner
• Good computer skills and knowledge of office software applications
• 2nd Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Monday to Friday
• Training Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm for up to 60 days

Work Environment

• May occasionally need to provide weekend and holiday support to meet customer needs
• Exposure to products of various weights and sizes
• Exposure to equipment with moving parts
• Exposure to chemicals that may emit fumes
• Must wear static-control and personal protective equipment to minimize safety risk

Physical Demands

• Distinguishing colors and meeting vision requirements
• Bending, stooping, reaching, turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, place units on rack, etc.
• Using hands for extended periods of time to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g., grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation)
• Must be able to stand for 2-hour increments without an opportunity to sit
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Transporting product with or without product carts

Qualifications

You Must Have

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience with reading or interpreting schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings
• Experience with using multimeters or oscilloscopes

• Electrical Technician Certification
• Associates Degree in Electronics
• Prior experience with component level troubleshooting
