2nd Shift Supervisor
About the role
Responsible for everyday production and shift management.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of all assigned staff.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding methods and procedures in assigned area.
- Acts as a liaison with other departments.
- Prepares written reports concerning assigned aspect of work.
- Manages day-to-day departmental operation, assigns people to the appropriate jobs, authorizes overtime, and controls cost.
- Performs any assignments given by Operations Manager.
- Makes sound decisions and sets job priorities.
- Sets machine and maintenance repair priorities.
- Ensures good safety and housekeeping practices are being followed.
- Ensures production requirements are met, including logging information as required.
- Performs daily audits.
- Responsible for employee training, developing, and evaluating performance.
- Disciplines employees as required based on established policies and procedures.
- Holds regular shift meetings with employees.
Requirements
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Strong professional and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with co-workers, customers, vendors, and visitors in a respectful and professional manner.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as multi-task.
- Strong organization skills.
- Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with computerized office systems and PC software.
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, sitting for extended periods of time.
- Bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
Working Conditions
- Works inside within an automotive components manufacturing office setting and may be exposed to heat, cold, and fumes/chemicals.
- Noise: some above 85 dB with vibration.
- Frequently works alone and more than 40 hours per week.
Protective Equipment Required
- Eye and hearing protection.
- Steel toe shoes.
