As a 2nd Shift Metal Stamping Material Handler, you will contribute to delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to customers worldwide in industries such as medical, aerospace & defense, automotive, interconnect, telecommunications, and consumer goods.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport heavy materials such as tools, coils, supplies, and finished goods using a forklift, electronic pallet jack, hand pallet jack, or by hand.
- Receive, distribute, and store products in designated, secure locations.
- Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped, including dates, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Review shipments for quality and accuracy; verify accompanying documents.
- Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments affecting the manufacturing process schedule.
- Load and unload materials, supplies, and finished goods.
- Resolve or correct internal material handling issues.
- Collect and properly dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience driving a forklift.
- 2 years of stamping manufacturing experience.
- Experience safely loading and unloading heavy coils.
- Experience safely removing tools from a press and placing them into assigned locations.
- Experience safely dumping metal scrap from scrap hoppers.
- Maintain production flow with minimal downtime.
- Ability to multitask and work as a team player.
- Forklift certification.
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good math and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn proprietary software.
- Efficient time management skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting on a forklift.
- Prolonged periods of standing while sorting.
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds at a time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or formal training in a related field preferred.
- At least five years of related experience required.
Pay
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour plus a 10% shift differential.
