About the role

Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a 2nd Shift Surface Mount Assembly Technician to join our team that operates SMT equipment producing a variety of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs).

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT machines such as: Stencil Printer, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick & Place machine, Reflow Oven, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-ray, and hand soldering
• Understand different electronics packages such as 0402, 0603, BGAs and their processing on an SMT line
• Work under a microscope
• Perform hand soldering of SMT and Through-hole parts
• Achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on work output
• Work independently under limited supervision
• Collaborate in a team environment, interacting with different functions, project teams, and production teams
• Read drawings and follow work instructions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience
• Surface Mount Technology experience or related electronics assembly experience
• Knowledge of SMT processes used to build Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
• Must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or prior certification in IPC-A-610
• Current or prior certification in J-STD-001
• Experience on SMT equipment and hand soldering

Pay

Pay Range: $48,100.00 - $86,950.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
