Responsibilities

  • Ensure the shipment of parts in an orderly fashion, ensuring shipments arrive on time and in good condition according to customer demands.
  • Prepare parts for shipment per the shipping schedule using FIFO and according to individual customer packaging instructions.
  • Transfer parts from warehouse to shipment staging.
  • Scan, wrap, and apply master labels to parts.
  • Check dock codes as required per customer.
  • Process shipments through the system to ensure timely advance shipping notifications and record keeping.
  • Follow and enforce safety standards for forklift operations.
  • Load/unload trucks safely, maintaining safe driving speeds and awareness of all surroundings.
  • Verify quantities on incoming shipments and acknowledge receipts with signatures and dates.
  • Maintain lot number identification for customers requiring same.
  • Label parts and shipments as directed by the shipping schedule.
  • Repack, re-label, and re-wrap as necessary.
  • Retrieve finished inventory that is put on hold and re-wrap and put away when released from hold.
  • Arrange in orderly manner for quality sorting.
  • Replace racking, decking, nuts, and bolts as necessary.
  • Keep counts on skids and returnables and maintain cleanliness of areas.
  • Perform other duties as required for safe, efficient operation of the plant and its employees.
  • Advise supervisor or manager about short ships before allowing trucks to leave.
  • Match returnable containers to documents on incoming trucks and ensure accuracy.
  • Participate in 5-S and CI initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift driving skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • FIFO comprehension.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Talk or hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, and sit.
  • Adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
