About the role
Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a shipping and receiving clerk for their 2nd Shift position in Hagerstown, MD.
Responsibilities
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Places identifying information on material upon arrival at the plant site. Routes items to inventory.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Maintains flow of traffic through yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
- Affords assistance in stacking lumber or moving product by hand as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- 6 months related experience is required.
- Lumber experience is a plus!
