2nd shift Shipping Forklift Operator
About the role
The Job Forklift Operator at Griffin Box is responsible for performing various tasks related to shipping, receiving, and production operations. This position requires adherence to safety protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules and maintain clean, organized workspaces, trailers, and storage areas.
- Read and interpret factory work orders and shipping/receiving documents.
- Accurately complete tally sheets, maintain organized paperwork, and generate bills of lading.
- Monitor conveyor lines, remove units, and load them into trailers or storage.
- Verify load tags and unit counts and inspect units for damage and secure strapping.
- Deliver sheets and in-process units to production areas.
- Perform receiving duties and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Stretch wrap specified units and ensure trailers are clean and ready for product loading.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support shipping, receiving, and production operations.
Qualifications, Skills And Knowledge
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Previous shipping experience is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry is highly preferred.
