2nd shift Shipping Clerk I

Description

Supports operations, customer service, administration and systems within a distribution center. Responsible for receiving, storing and distributing finished goods. Uses computerized systems to monitor stock levels, fulfill customer orders, ship and deliver merchandise to customer warehouse, wholesale or retail outlets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrate a general knowledge of and novice ability to complete all listed job tasks
• Safely operate all necessary distribution equipment
• Understand and use bar code scanner including: Picking orders, Inventory look up, Inventory transfers, Keeping, saving and loading an order, Small Parcel: UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL shipments, Check order for accuracy, Complete paperwork properly, Properly pack basic packages per work instructions, Special product packaging requirements, Run packages through shipping station, Perform international and domestic shipments via small parcel carrier, Perform international and domestic freight quotes, Train and perform special product packaging requirements, Pull, box and ship all temperature controlled items, Train on handling all Hazmat shipments, Complete AES/ITN number for UPS shipments, Pallet orders: LTL, Understand picking a pallet order to check, Pick accurately, Proper product layering, Face out product labels, Case count labelling, Pack loose items properly, Check order for accuracy, Pack all loose or easily damaged items properly, Complete paperwork properly, Print address labels for multiple pallet shipments, International Shipments, Understand the use of heat treated pallets, Customer packaging requirements, International packing list, Commercial invoices, Special customer requirements, Gravity flow items packaged and labelled, No partial cases, No split lots, Expiration date requirements, Print address labels for multiple pallet shipments, Maintain a professional attitude to promote a positive work environment for all employees, Work overtime as assigned by management team.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Ability to interface with management regarding duties and future development of department
• Minimum six months documented distribution/warehouse experience in an inbound or outbound function
• RF scanner experience desired but not required
• Forklift certification desired but not required
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common shipping reports and regulatory documents regarding shipping
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
• Ability to effectively present information to lower level management

Education and Experience

Physical Demands

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
