2nd Shift Shipper Loader
Pay Rate: $21.49/hr. | Shift: 2pm - 10pm (OT and weekends may be required) | Location: 152 Iodent Way Suite A, Elizabethton, TN 37643
About the role
Operates a forklift in a safe and efficient manner following all safety rules, policies, and protocols. Unloads inbound and outbound shipments safely and moves products to storage locations. Efficiently stacks and stores merchandise in appropriate areas, ensuring shipments are accurate and free of damage. Reports quality variances, pulls and prepares orders for shipment, and loads product into trailers or staging areas. Maintains facility equipment, performs minor maintenance, and keeps work areas clean and orderly. Assists in physical inventories and performs shipping and billing duties when needed. Other duties may be assigned by supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Unload and load inbound/outbound shipments, moving products to storage locations.
- Stack and store merchandise in designated areas.
- Ensure shipments are accurate and damage-free; report quality variances.
- Pull and prepare orders for shipment, verifying exact number and type of product.
- Move product from staging/storage areas and production lines into trailers or staging areas.
- Maintain facility equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance on forklift or other equipment.
- Maintain tight inventory control and security through accurate record-keeping.
- Assist in physical inventories and maintain a clean work area.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
- Complete forms, logs, inventory, and records accurately.
- Perform shipping and billing duties when the shipping lead is absent.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and provide daily feedback on shift activity.
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand loading instructions.
- Problem-solving skills with minimal assistance.
- Effective communication with employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Basic computer skills (data entry) and arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Previous forklift experience required; two years in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Experience handling material without pallets preferred.
- Ability to learn and understand machine line-up.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
