This role performs incoming inspections of electro-mechanical and electronic components, verifies conformance to engineering drawings, and documents non-conformities in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment on a second-shift schedule (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM).
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspection of parts and materials, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards before release to production.
- Interpret manufacturing and engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and drawing notes, to determine inspection criteria.
- Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages to verify part dimensions and features.
- Compare measured parts to blueprints and specifications, identifying any deviations or non-conformities.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately, including recording measurements and maintaining quality inspection records.
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformities in accordance with established quality procedures.
- Support gage calibration activities by using inspection tools correctly and reporting any issues with measurement equipment.
- Update inspection reports and quality documentation to reflect inspection outcomes and any corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with quality technicians, engineers, and production staff to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
- Participate in the creation and performance of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), when required.
- Assist with or support processes related to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans, as needed.
- Work effectively as part of a small receiving inspection team, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Experience performing incoming inspections of electro-mechanical or electronic components.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions and tolerances.
- Proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting inspection results.
- Familiarity with quality procedures, non-conformity documentation, and continuous improvement processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional staff.
- Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), PPAP, PFMEA, or Control Plans is a plus.
Pay
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Fully onsite position in Wheeling, IL. This is a Contract to Hire role.
