About the role
The Quality Assurance/Control Technician gathers data and participates in root cause assessment of Out of Trend (OOT) and Out of Specification (OOS) material, helping to implement and support corrective/preventive actions. They create Certificates of Analysis (COA), test materials before, during, and after production to ensure conformity with internal and external specifications, and maintain all data in SAP. The role operates in a team environment, supports ISO standards, and embodies the Mondi culture.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Certificate of Analysis (COA) utilizing the automated system.
- Release all conforming material in SAP for shipment.
- Investigate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) including scrap process for non-conforming events.
- Support Quality Manager with internal and external complaint investigations (RCA & CAPAs), including data gathering on MES/SAP and Pi vision.
- Assist with audit findings and maintain records for calibration, pest control, MSDS, and Customer COAs.
- Review and update procedures to maintain compliance with ISO for continuous improvement.
- Maintain raw material certificates (COAs) and input data appropriately into SAP.
- Perform quality testing as required by production paperwork per controlled procedures.
- Participate in all safety training and audits; exhibit safe behavior at all times.
- Supply samples and photos of defects to appropriate parties.
- Block suspect and non-conforming product and communicate to all interested parties.
Responsibilities Specific to Leonia
- Maintain slitting samples in a clean and organized fashion, ensuring proper record retention.
- Confirm product off the slitter meets all customer requirements, including wind direction, print quality, and overall quality of rolls and pallets.
- Back up for releasing all conforming material in SAP for shipment.
Requirements
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred; proficient in reading and writing English.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Quality-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of Quality-related experience in an ISO 9001 facility.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
