About the role

This position provides security services with a customer-service approach, focusing on professionalism, fairness, and compassion. Key responsibilities include maintaining safety and security, responding to emergencies, and coordinating with law enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures safety and security during interior and exterior patrols.
  • Performs routine inspections and audits to identify vulnerabilities and hazards.
  • Assists with traffic control and manages patient valuables.
  • Responds to and investigates workplace violence and emergency situations.
  • Provides security awareness education to team members.
  • Liaises with law enforcement and first responders.
  • Maintains Department uniform and equipment in good repair.
  • Performs liaison rounding duties to foster partnerships with departments.
  • Facilitates de-escalation techniques and uses force when necessary.
  • Coordinates prisoner patient guards and ensures policy compliance.
  • Participates in ongoing training and maintains certification.
  • Assists with exterior traffic and crowd control.

Requirements

  • Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) from IAHSS.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • For Illinois teammates: Completion of State of Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course.
  • For Wisconsin teammates: Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license.
  • Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon (e.g. TASER) use.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service.

Qualifications

  • An above-average level of emotional intelligence.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Collaborative work with medical staff and external law enforcement.
  • Physical fitness and ability to walk all areas of the facilities and grounds.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally and push/pull with 35 lbs. of force.

Pay

$21.85 - $32.80 per hour

Schedule

300pm-11:00pm
