About the role
Under the guidance of the department leadership, this role executes production strategies and tactical plans at the Astemo Berea Plant. The position collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production supervisors and direct team members while acting as a strategic partner to other departments across the organization. It exercises independent judgment regularly while operating within established guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Acts as liaison between department leadership, support staff, and production team members.
- Drives continuous improvement activities within the department, including development of standard work procedures and meeting key milestones.
- Coordinates efforts to achieve efficiency and departmental KPIs.
- Fosters a culture of encouragement and motivation that helps production team members succeed in their roles.
- Enforces all applicable safety regulations, as well as regional and local policies and procedures.
- Champions problem-solving efforts within the department.
- Responsible for data mining, analysis, and reporting as required for leadership review and budgeting.
- Oversees delegation of appropriate departmental tasks and projects.
- Directly oversees supervisors in the department.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to use current company software applications (including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and current ERP system).
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of prior relevant experience.
- More than 1-3 years of leadership experience.
Working Conditions
- Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- May occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work 40–60 hours per week (including weekends/holidays).
- On-call availability 7 days per week.
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required as needed.
- Works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to office and laboratory areas.
