2nd shift Product Development Technician- (Commercial)
About the role
Operates tufting machine including threading needles and backing changes. Responsible for running first quality product with no defects such as mends, high or low lines, or crossed ends.
Responsibilities
- Runs first quality product with no defects such as mends, high or low lines, or crossed ends.
- Loads styles on the computer and verifies the information matches the paperwork.
- Uses air splicer.
- Conducts machine set up checks (checking scroll motors, backing verification, and all items on the paperwork and computer).
- Performs quality inspection during production runs ensuring there are no defects.
- Ensures housekeeping of area throughout the shift.
- Ensures compliance to all company and regulatory safety and environmental guidelines and practices to include wearing the appropriate safety PPE, using the appropriate tools and equipment, and exercising the required safety behaviors for the task at hand.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Other tasks may include pulling cones of yarns from shelves, winding yarn, checking yarn colors, using compressed air to blow yarn into a cradle by reading a diagram for yarn placement.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
- Strong attendance and punctuality required.
- Prior experience operating tufting machines strongly preferred.
- Ability to see off shade of color yarns.
- Read and write in Standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
- Ability to bend, pull and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand or be on feet four 8 hours.

- Good manual dexterity.
- Basic computer skills.
