2nd Shift Medical Waste Plant Operator (7118) *$24/HR*

About the role
As a Plant Operator at our medical waste treatment facility, you'll help healthcare facilities safely manage medical waste by operating specialized equipment, ensuring accurate documentation, and following safe processing procedures. This is a hands-on, physically active role in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, weigh, and process incoming sharps and regulated medical waste containers
- Operate autoclave system for medical waste treatment
- Load and operate Washsmart container sanitization system
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment following training as needed
- Routinely lift containers weighing up to 55 lbs
- Push loaded carts weighing up to 200 lbs
- Spend the majority of shift standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving materials throughout the facility
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate processing records
- Follow all safety, quality, and compliance procedures
- Collaborate with team to keep operations running smoothly
Requirements
- Enjoys physical, hands-on work and is comfortable in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Experience in physically demanding roles such as warehouse, manufacturing, construction, landscaping, shipping/receiving, sanitation, or similar environments preferred (not required)
- Ability to repeatedly lift, move, and transport materials throughout an entire shift
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs regularly and safely push carts weighing up to 200 lbs
- Comfortable standing and being active for the duration of an 8+ hour shift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Reliable attendance and a proven track record of dependability
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm – end of shift
- 40 hours per week, permanent position
Pay
- Set (non‑negotiable) rate of $24.00 per hour
