Supervisory Responsibilities
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working with machinery and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Collaborate with farm management to schedule maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency with over 2 years of experience as a mechanic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Familiarity with standard, essential hand tools used in the trade.
- Self-driven individual with a solid work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in agricultural machinery repair.
- Familiarity with various types of agricultural equipment.
Job Setting & Physical Demands
- This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment.
- Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required.
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including various weather conditions and with dust and allergens.
- Position requires long-term (up to 8+hours/day) ability for walking, standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties.
- Position also requires utilization of fine motor skills, including but not limited to pinching, squeezing, and pulling.
- The candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including the ability to obtain the required certifications to operate such equipment, as necessary.
- Candidates also must have the ability to work at heights over 6 (six) feet.
- Candidate must be able to utilize and communicate through a cellular or radio-like device.
- Candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons.
- Employee must have the ability to lift 50 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
