About the role
This is a Material Handler II role in the Receiving Department with a work shift of 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Within the Receiving department, you will routinely perform tasks such as sampling raw materials, unloading trucks, storing raw material in racking systems, and receiving and labeling raw materials. You will regularly use motorized equipment including Fork Trucks, Power Walkies, Reach Trucks, and Swing Trucks. In addition to daily tasks, you will participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming materials, including verifying counts, receiving material, labeling material, and sampling material to make them available for production.
- Work with powered industrial trucks (PIT) to ensure inventory is stored accurately and safely in racking systems.
- Use computer systems and handheld scanning devices to accurately ensure material is displayed correctly in our ERP system.
- Collaborate with your team to ensure a productive and positive work environment.
- Participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of general warehouse experience.
- One to two years’ experience working with computers and basic software packages, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Experience with powered industrial trucks.
- Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus.
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.
- Ability to work in a cold room environment (-22°F/-6°C).
- Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds; may be required to lift 45 pounds or more with assistance and/or equipment.
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
- Use of PPE (Personal Prote Equipment) such as safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.
- Ability to work with hazardous/toxic materials, strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products), and in a warehouse environment.
Skills
- Maintain knowledge of current import/export regulations as they relate to shipment of goods to and from the USA.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.
- Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $14.41–$21.61.
Schedule
Second Shift (Afternoons): 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
