Responsibilities

  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information
  • Perform welding, fabrication and other duties as assigned by department manager
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or inspect machines, machine parts, and equipment
  • Supports and perform all preventative maintenance programs
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
  • Communicate clearly and professionally to supervisors, associates, engineering support and contractors
  • Takes initiative to identify potential electrical problems and implement preventative measures
  • Adheres to all safety procedures to maintain and uphold a safe working environment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment
  • Strong initiative to complete larger projects with teammates and outside contractor

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance
  • Preferred experience in plastic injection molding
  • Candidates must be proficient in the use of all fabrication equipment such as brake, shear, lathe, drill press, Bridgeport mill, mig/tig/arc welders, Oxy-acetylene cutting and welding, plasma cutting, etc.
  • Proficiency in understanding, installing, and maintaining electrical systems including wiring, circuits, breakers, and transformers

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-year technical school required or equitable certifications

Physical Demands / Environmental Factors

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  • Work in varying temperatures and environments (including hot, cold, and noisy areas)
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely
  • Comfortable working at heights when necessary
