2nd Shift Maintenance Tech

Summary Of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Completes preventive maintenance requests and works with OEM on production equipment.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and collaborates with OEM manufacturer to locate sources of problems.
• Controls downtime by informing production scheduler of preventive maintenance performed by OEM manufacturer or internal maintenance.
• Fabricates repair parts based on internal engineering and company equipment specifications.
• Maintains spare parts inventory provided by OEM.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Collaborates with equipment OEM manufacturers to troubleshoot and address sudden breakdowns.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance information, including all work order requests, and documents in company maintenance software.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and establishing personal networks with equipment and parts suppliers.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

• High school degree and technical background required, trade/vocational school preferred.
• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience required, agricultural and/or automotive a plus.
• Strong background in electrical systems (including wiring schematics), hydraulics, air brakes and diesel engines as well as transmissions and clutches.
• Great communication skills, ability to work well with others, and exchange skills and knowledge with other company employees.
• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Class A CDL a plus.
• Service shop experience preferred.
• Able to lift heavy mechanical components and work outside in all types of weather.
• Demonstrated reliable work history and ability to work independently.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
