Responsibilities

• Review work orders and ensure that all work schedules are met.
• Organize and assign work.
• Supervise skilled and semi-skilled employees performing major repairs and preventive maintenance to buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Anticipate maintenance and personnel problems and resolve them to minimize their effects on production.
• Ensure safety issues are addressed and solved.
• Complete maintenance personnel reviews in a timely manner.
• Assume the duties of the Maintenance Manager in their absence as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of maintenance personnel in the PDS Facility.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years in the maintenance department, with experience in a relief supervisor position.
• Computer skills/experience in work order systems and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Specific vision abilities include peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to lift 30-35 lbs. unassisted, climb a ladder, and work at ceiling-level heights.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
