2nd Shift Lead Custodial Services Worker
About the role
The incumbent will maintain established standards of cleanliness and sanitation for interior spaces within assigned education and general assignment buildings across campus. They will serve in a leadership and directional role when the 2nd & 3rd Shift Facilities Operations Assistant Manager is unavailable.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and disinfecting common high touch surfaces, restrooms, hallways, corridors, classrooms, stairwells, elevators, and general interior spaces.
- Serving as a point person for emergency cleanup, executing blood-borne pathogen procedures, floor and window maintenance, operating powered cleaning equipment, trash removal, collecting recycling, and replenishing supplies.
- Reporting equipment and building repairs and addressing any unsafe or unusual maintenance issues.
- Maintaining the care and handling of facilities supplies, equipment, and assigned keys.
- Reporting to work as needed during campus emergencies, holidays, closings, and per supervisor’s instructions.
Requirements
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, and properly use or learn to use cleaning chemicals and agents, including dilution and dispensing systems.
- Must be able to walk and stand extensively; climb stairs; safely move or handle up to 35 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach (including reaching above the head to dust), push/pull, perform repetitive motion, twist, and shovel snow.
- Must be able to safely and efficiently operate electrically powered and manual cleaning equipment.
- Must be willing and able to learn the use of heavy floor care equipment.
- Must be capable of working independently without close supervision.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with the public and/or customer service experience.
- Knowledge and experience with various cleaning methods.
- Custodial/cleaning experience in an institutional, or commercial cleaning environment (such as hospitality (hotel/motel), commercial cleaning company, manufacturing, health care facilities, etc.).
- Custodial/cleaning experience working in an educational environment (such as universities/college, school systems, etc.).
- Previous experience operating professional cleaning equipment.
Pay
$34,944 plus $2,080, Pay Band 1, Overtime Status Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime.
Schedule
Normal work hours are M-F 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., but work hours may vary to meet management and customer needs.
