2nd Shift Journeyman Tool & Die Maker II

About the role

Milwaukee Valve Company is seeking a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker II to join our team in Department 761 at our location in Prairie Du Sac, WI. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check, all with acceptable results. Applicants are responsible for scheduling and completing these tests within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Operation and set-up of all types of machines in the Tool Room, including manual and CNC machines.
• Operation of the Wire EDM and Esprit CAD/CAM software.
• Comprehend and interpret all types of blueprints and specifications.
• Perform grinding duties as needed.
• Knowledge of all types of measuring equipment used in the Tool Room.
• Train other personnel on machine operations.
• Routine maintenance of machines, including oiling.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the department.
• Use various toolmaker tools, including micrometers, calipers, 6” scale, protractors, squares, 1-2-3 blocks, and a toolbox with necessary tools.
• Ensure work meets tolerances to .0005 or better when required.

Qualifications

• Two-year certificate from college or technical school, or 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
