Responsibilities

  • Prepares materials, surfaces, and structures for powder coat
  • Application of coating to drawing specifications
  • Prepare, coat, and finish metal assembly surfaces
  • Utilization of spray equipment to apply powder finishes
  • Adjusting spray equipment and monitor the flow of the powder recipe
  • Usage of Mil readings and monitor the usage amount
  • Performs preventative equipment maintenance to ensure apparatus remains in working order
  • Regulates temperature and air circulation in drying ovens
  • Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required
  • Fulfills safety standards and procedures
  • Utilizes a manlift and all safety harness features when working with large metal fixtures
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots defects and consults with other work members
  • Able to withstand exposure to industrial ovens for short time frames
  • Able to place and retrieve large metal fixtures into industrial ovens
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school or GED diploma
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing painting experience preferred
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of the job
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Ability to read blueprints and other work instructions and procedures
  • Proficient at spray and handheld application of exterior coatings
  • Proficient at sealing/baking final exterior coatings
  • Self-motivated
  • Flexible schedule

Physical Demands And Work Environment

  • Work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, bend, squat, and otherwise move continuously throughout shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
