Responsibilities
- Prepares materials, surfaces, and structures for powder coat
- Application of coating to drawing specifications
- Prepare, coat, and finish metal assembly surfaces
- Utilization of spray equipment to apply powder finishes
- Adjusting spray equipment and monitor the flow of the powder recipe
- Usage of Mil readings and monitor the usage amount
- Performs preventative equipment maintenance to ensure apparatus remains in working order
- Regulates temperature and air circulation in drying ovens
- Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required
- Fulfills safety standards and procedures
- Utilizes a manlift and all safety harness features when working with large metal fixtures
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots defects and consults with other work members
- Able to withstand exposure to industrial ovens for short time frames
- Able to place and retrieve large metal fixtures into industrial ovens
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school or GED diploma
- 1-3 years of manufacturing painting experience preferred
- Understanding of the technical aspects of the job
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Ability to read blueprints and other work instructions and procedures
- Proficient at spray and handheld application of exterior coatings
- Proficient at sealing/baking final exterior coatings
- Self-motivated
- Flexible schedule
Physical Demands And Work Environment
- Work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels
- Frequently required to walk, stand, bend, squat, and otherwise move continuously throughout shift
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
