2nd Shift Industrial Paint Technician (M-F 3:30P to 1:00A)

About the role

This position is part of Compass Systems & Sales, LLC, an industry leader in automated conveyance solutions for various manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding work orders and mechanical prints
• Preparing surfaces for painting including sanding, chemical etching, and priming
• Selecting premixed paints or mixing required portions of pigment, and preparing paint to match specified colors
• Touching up blemished or damaged painted areas using brushes or rollers
• Erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders to perform tasks above ground level
• Operating a forklift and overhead crane to move material to and from work area
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A paint school or paint tech program certificate is preferred
• At least 2 years of related experience in industrial painting
• A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a certificate/degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Frequent standing, bending, and movement around the facility
• Understanding of basic divisible math for mixing paint
• Good attendance record
• Desire and ability to work overtime
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Pass a required drug screen

• Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
• Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
• Noise levels requiring hearing protection
