Position Summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and reliability of production equipment, facility systems, and manufacturing operations within our satellite production facility. This role is based in Midland, TX.

What You Bring:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one (1) year of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, military maintenance, facilities maintenance, electronics maintenance, or related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Military maintenance experience (Electronics Technician, Aviation Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, Communications Systems Maintenance, etc.).
  • Manufacturing, aerospace, semiconductor, chemical plant, refinery, industrial operations, or production facility experience.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience using multimeters and test equipment.
  • Experience working with motors, controls, conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance principles.
  • OSHA, electrical safety, Lockout/Tagout, or related certifications.
  • Technical school, vocational training, military technical training, or associate degree in a maintenance-related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Experience supporting high-reliability operations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive and precision tasks.
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to perform job duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
  • Ability to work in, on, around, and in proximity to large structures, equipment, and tooling.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Ability to work in and around tight or confined spaces.
  • Ability to type up to 8-12 hours per day.
  • Reading, identifying colors of labels or signage.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and/or hazardous materials (e.g., carbon fiber).

Relocation Support:
