About the Role

Astemo Rock Spring, Inc., established in 2000 and part of Astemo with 90,000 employees worldwide, supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru from our Rock Spring, GA facility. We operate on three shifts across Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly departments with 400 employees.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heat Treat equipment for multiple production lines, maintain equipment check sheets, and uphold cleanliness (C.O.P.) in the work area.
• After initial training, cross-train in additional steps of the manufacturing process for aluminum knuckles.
• Use tools such as file, air sander, air chisel, air blow wand, broom, dustpan, and squeegee.
• Perform physical tasks including moving lightweight materials and repetitive lifting (over 700 lifts per shift) of up to 15 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Monitor and maintain production quantities and quality, checking parts for defects.
• Adhere to company goals: OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, ethical and legal standards, customer quality, production targets, and delivery performance.
• Promote a safety-first attitude and follow all OSHA regulations, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), LOTO, crane and powered lift safety, machine guarding, chemical handling, fall protection, fire protection, incident reporting, respirator use, hearing conservation, and confined space protocols.
• Collaborate with the Casting Supervisor and Quality Assurance teams to maintain equipment and product quality standards.
• Follow quality control processes to ensure product integrity and adherence to specifications.
• Coordinate with the Casting Supervisor to prioritize maintenance tasks and production schedules, minimizing disruptions and ensuring on-time delivery.
• Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and implement efficiency measures in collaboration with the Casting Supervisor.
• Provide daily updates on work progress, equipment performance, production targets, and key performance metrics.
• Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as equipment uptime and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) to drive performance optimization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing priorities.
• Proficiency in safety regulations and quality control processes specific to the Casting department.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand for 8 hours, use hands and fingers, handle tools or controls, walk, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally.
• Must withstand working in heated areas.
• Repetitive lifting of up to 15 pounds (over 700 lifts per shift) and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
