2nd shift Forklift Operator

About the Role

As a Forklift Operator with Liberty Packaging, you will contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely moving goods and materials around a high-traffic industrial environment. This full-time position reports directly to a Production Supervisor and is located at our Rock Island, Illinois manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high-traffic industrial environment.
• Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system, including a touch screen monitor located on the forklift, to track inventory levels and product location.
• Regularly complete pre-operation inspection and report equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance.
• Prepare shipments for transport, consolidate partial pallets, and operate the shrink wrap machine as needed.
• Move product and/or materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading trailers.
• Follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 1+ years of experience operating mobile equipment or comparable experience in place of education.
• Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
• Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Previous experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Knowledge of warehouse organization, workflow, and basic inventory control (e.g., Amtech).
• Previous experience with reading a tape measure.

Pay

The starting pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour plus hourly shift differential pay.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold warehouse/manufacturing environments.
• Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to sit/stand for 6+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to walk for 3+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to reach/grasp for 4+ hours per shift.
