2nd Shift Final Test Technician

Reports to: Final Test Supervisor | Department: Operations | Work Model: Full-time, on-site – No Travel Required

About the Role

The Final Test Technician is responsible for verifying both hardware and software functionality at the end of the manufacturing process. This role is critical to ensuring products meet quality standards before shipment, maintaining our reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality products. By identifying and addressing last-minute issues, the technician helps uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive test procedures to verify product performance.
• Identify and troubleshoot hardware or software issues.
• Set up and maintain test equipment/assets to ensure each unit meets quality and reliability standards before shipment.
• Accurately analyze and document test results, observations, and anomalies.
• Support product development by providing feedback to design teams based on manufacturability and testing outcomes.
• Perform routine decisions related to testing, troubleshooting, and escalating issues as needed.
• Mentor less experienced team members when necessary.

Scope and Complexity

This role requires a high level of autonomy, with technicians working independently based on a set schedule. Self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks without direct supervision are essential. While not a formal leadership role, it demands ownership, accountability, and occasional guidance for junior team members.

Tools and Equipment

Final Test Technicians routinely use electronic test equipment, including:

• Oscilloscopes
• Multimeters
• Signal generators
• Power supplies
• Specialized test fixtures
• Test software, Microsoft Excel, and internal tracking systems

Skills and Abilities

• Identify common test failures, perform basic diagnostics, and communicate findings clearly.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, test procedures, and technical documentation.
• Use test software, Microsoft Excel, and internal systems for tracking and documentation.
• Share test results, issues, and updates with team members and engineers professionally.
• Prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently to meet daily schedules.
• Accurately record test results, log defects, and complete reports.
• Perform simple voltage, continuity, and resistance checks using standard equipment.

Requirements

• Must be a US Person (US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected person).
• GED or High School Diploma (required).
• Two or more years of hands-on electronics experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC certification.
• Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment with consistent exposure to the manufacturing floor and testing areas. May require lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods.
