2nd Shift Fabricator
This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.
About the role
The Press Brake Operator position is responsible for operating and maintaining the Press Brake and performing various fabrication projects as required.
Responsibilities
- Competent use of hand, bench, and light machine operations to perform deburring, filing, grinding, and polishing on machined parts.
- Understand and utilize a tape measure, squaring tools, electronic level, calipers, and micrometers.
- Understand tolerances for parts.
- Identify why machines are not at peak performance and how to increase output.
- Ensure accuracy with alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements.
- Perform spot inspections of parts.
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, and bills of material.
- Complete and maintain paperwork.
- Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum, and regular steel).
- Operate small forklift, pallet jacks, hoist, etc., to lift and transport materials exceeding 50 pounds.
- Perform cycle counts as prescribed by Production and Inventory Control.
- Understand and meet housekeeping expectations.
- Produce parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) press brake.
- Document tooling and safe practices for Press Brake operations.
- Calculate blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage, and tooling for each part being formed.
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machines within capabilities.
- Report all machine malfunctions to Management.
- Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Plan and prioritize tasks.
Requirements
- Proficiency in all press brake machines on site.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Understanding of basic fraction-to-decimal conversions and knowledge of numbers and dimensions.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Intermediate personal computer skills, including email, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
