2nd shift Department Manager

About the role

The Department Manager - DC is responsible for managing and supporting assigned team members in a Distribution Center setting. Key responsibilities include operations management, ensuring safety and compliance, and building a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and executes plans to meet operational and organizational objectives.
• Fulfills roles in safety and compliance by ensuring adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
• Manages inventory processing and delivery to customers.
• Interviews, onboards, and trains new team members.
• Develops and supports the growth and development of direct reports.
• Addresses performance, attendance, behavior, and conduct issues promptly.
• Utilizes logic and reasoning to make effective decisions and recommendations.
• Communicates professionally and maintains a respectful workplace.
• Manages time effectively, balancing "on the floor" presence and office time.
• Participates in special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous supervisory experience in a comparable operational environment or successful completion of Michaels’ Leadership Training program.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with a college degree preferred.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and WMS applications.
• Experience with labor management systems (LMS) is preferred.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving and change management skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts.

Pay

Total Base Pay Range: $58,000.00 - $77,000.00. The position may be eligible for additional compensation, including a bonus based on performance.

Schedule

The role requires flexibility to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
