About the role

As a CNC Machinist, you will set up and operate CNC equipment to produce metal parts and components per design and drawing specifications. This role involves performing repetitive tasks, conducting basic equipment checks, and following step-by-step instructions for machine setup and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate basic CNC functions (cut, punch, form, drill, pulse, spin, mill, stamp) to produce parts per design specifications.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as loading/unloading parts, attaching components, and operating hand tools.
  • Conduct basic equipment checks to ensure tools and machines are operational.
  • Follow written or verbal instructions for machine setup and operation.
  • Perform routine quality inspections using basic measurement tools (e.g., rulers, tape measures).
  • Identify and segregate defective parts for supervisor review.
  • Maintain accurate records of production counts and defect reports.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain awareness and report potential safety hazards to leaders.
  • Work closely with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to address challenges and improve processes.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to report issues and provide updates.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace; store tools and equipment properly.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production goals.
  • Cross-train in other areas and adjust to new processes or technologies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Familiarity with machining techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy.

Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity: ability to handle parts and tools with precision.
  • Repetitive motion: bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands.
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.

Pay

The expected base hourly range is $17.50–$31.30, based on skills and experience. Bonus eligible.
