2nd Shift Checker Loader

About the role

This position is responsible for operating all equipment in the carpet cushion department and loading finished products while meeting production and quality standards for the department. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate both verbally and written with the department and supervisor. This position will require the safe operation of a forklift along with computer use.

Responsibilities

• Manually load and drive a squeeze forklift
• Lift and maneuver Carpet Cushion Rolls and packages of foam weighing up to 80 pounds
• Watch for defects in the material
• Plan work flow with lead person or supervisor to ensure all required trailers are loaded
• Perform quality checks
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
• Load product into trailers
• Check product loaded in correct trailer per customer specifications
• Must be able to check multiple trailers at the same time
• Scan (with a hand scanner) products to load into the computer shipping system
• Print labels, run manifest and bills of lading from computer
• Work safely in a fast-paced environment
• Read and understand Carpenter Co Truck Sheets

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree required
• Basic Computer experience required; SAP preferred
• Forklift experience required
• Must be able to train on 1st shift with normal hours of 5am to 1pm for at least 30 days

Qualifications

• Forklift experience: 3 years required
• Forklift Certified

Skills

• UKG (preferred)
• SAP (preferred)
• Detail Oriented
• Self-Starter

Pay

The pay rate for this position is $23.93 to $24.85 per hour. There is an additional $2.00 per hour shift premium for working 2nd shift.

Schedule

2nd shift, typically 1pm to 9pm. Training will occur on 1st shift with normal hours of 5am to 1pm for at least 30 days.
