About the role
This position provides support in all aspects of the employee life cycle—from onboarding to offboarding—and partners with employees and managers to achieve departmental and organizational goals. The role requires a broad knowledge base to assist employees with a variety of questions and concerns, including benefits, employee relations, and onboarding.
This role works directly with other Human Resource functions and leaders at all levels throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Proactively support Human Resource Leaders in managing department functions, including creating programs, recommending process improvements, staying current on legislation, and collaborating across departments to implement changes.
- Provide support to employees by communicating and implementing updated policies and practices through meetings, presentations, or email.
- Deliver training on compliance and policy concerns.
- Lead and participate in the onboarding process, including facilitating orientation and New Leader Assimilations.
- Support employee relations by conducting investigations related to ethics, morale, motivation, and efficiency.
- Apply discretion in terminations related to attendance policies, disability policies, FMLA regulations, and general conduct rules.
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence to facilitate role modifications, employee changes, organizational changes, and transfers within Workday.
- Act as a liaison between employees, Absence Partners, and vendors regarding FMLA, Disability, and employee status updates for managers.
- Plan employee events, engagement activities, team culture enhancements, and communication strategies with various teams.
- Respond to inquiries from people leaders regarding policies, procedures, and programs, and conduct training for coaches and managers.
- Analyze, track, and calculate outside labor reports (OLR), LBI termination reports, turnover, attendance, and monthly headcount reports.
- Work with local temporary agencies to acquire additional temporary staffing as needed.
- Administer the company attendance program to ensure compliance and equity.
- Support safety initiatives such as PIV licensing and hearing tests.
This position supports the Human Resource function for hundreds of employees and multiple leaders across various locations, requiring prioritization of needs and responsiveness to employee concerns and department inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Travel required: up to 5%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of local and Federal employment laws and regulations.
- Certified SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
